Character Archetypes

Here’s a break down of a few ideas:

  • Mage: A wielder of magical powers.
    • Spirit Shaman: A mage who specializes in spirits rather than spellcasting
    • Combat Sorceror: A mage who specializes in spells geared for combat.
  • Hacker: Someone who specializes in getting around computer security
    • Technomancer: Given the impossible ability to get into computers without the need of a device.
      • Sprite Compiler: What a spirit shaman is to a combat sorcerer, a Sprite Compiler is to a Technomancer.
    • Rigger: The hardware ends up looking much the same, but a Rigger is less about data and more about controlling drones in combat.
  • Combatant: Someone who’s good at fighting.
    • Street Samurai: Someone who’s used prosthesis and cybertechnology to transform themselves into living weapons. Think Bionic man, except they did it to themselves on purpose.
    • Adept: What the Street Samurai does with advanced technology, an Adept does with Magic. An adept channels their magical power into their physical abilities, making them faster, stronger, and more capable than normal people
    • Bruiser: But then again, a Troll with a baseball is formidable enough to give even an adept a run for their money.
  • Face: A face is someone who talks. We all know what this is.
    • Social Adept: An adept who channels their magical power to make themselves prettier and more charismatic.
